BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman is facing a negligent homicide charge following the birth — and death — of a child in her home in Boca Isles South. Bianca DeSouza of the 19500 block of Dinner Key Drive in Boca Raton’s “Boca Isles South” was taken into custody Friday evening. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 8:26 p.m. on the following charges:

“Homicide — Negligent Manslaughter — Aggravated Of Child,” and “Neglect Child — Neglect Child With Great Bodily Harm.”

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in an early Saturday morning statement to BocaNewsNow.com: “A warrant was filed to arrest and charge Bianca Desouza. Sadly this involved the birth of a child at home that did not survive upon arrival to the hospital.”

DeSouza is being held in jail without bond as of 8:30 a.m. Saturday as the arrest report continues to be processed. The specifics of the case were not yet available. We note that Palm Beach County records indicate that Bianca DeSouza has never had documented interaction with the justice system — whether civil or criminal. There is not even a motor vehicle violation associated with her name.

DeSouza, 21, is expected to appear in front of a judge at some point on Saturday. This is the second high-profile arrest in just days in Boca Isles South. The man accused of stealing a security vehicle and crashing it in front of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office substation in West Boca Raton earlier this week also lives in Boca Isles South.

  1. And fifty other felons live in Florida along with Donal Trump. Based on your writing should all of Florida just be labeled bad ?….what about New York and what about Baltimore? And what about California and Kentucky and Tennessee and Arizona Chicago? Why are you picking out Boca Isles South because of a few bad apples ?

      1. He’s right. If you pick a random news story about a moron doing something shockingly stupid, despite there being 50 states, there is a 50% chance that the person is a native Floridian.
