It’s Boca Rudeton For Wednesday. Oh, The Places Dogs Shouldn’t Go!

BY: STAFF REPORT | BocaNewsNow.com

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The rudeness continues in Boca Raton, as one patient brings a dog to the people doctor, and another brings a dog to Starbucks. There’s no reason dogs are in either location. Both people are candidates for our Boca Rudeton prize. Only one will win.

We’ll start with the dog at the doctor. We understand the blonde woman seen above just could help herself from bringing this dog to a doctor, something patients in the waiting room were apparently less than thrilled about. It’s unclear why the dog was there. The doctor would be able to provide any help that was needed… certainly far more help than a dog. Even the dog looks confused as to why the dog couldn’t sit at home and watch Animal Planet.

No, we don’t know why this woman brought a dog to a doctor for people. We do know that other patients were less than thrilled that it was there.

Also on our rude list for this Wednesday, the woman with the dog in Starbucks at the Reserve Shopping Center in Boca Raton. Never mind that bringing a dog into a facility that sells or distributes food is illegal under state and federal law, the woman needed her comfy chair, a cup of coffee, and looks from other customers who wish she left her rear-smelling, self-licking companion at home.

Dog in Starbucks Boca
Even the dog wants to know why it’s in the Starbucks in the Reserve Shops in Boca Raton. Dogs are not legally allowed in indoor locations where food is sold, served, or distributed.

So who wins the coveted Boca Rudeton award for this day? It’s both women! That’s right, both! What do they win? Well, as our readers know, we don’t give away prizes yet (but just wait for 2024), but if we did, it would be a game of Clue for both. Because it seems both women above need a clue as we enter the final days of 2023.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send us your submissions using the menu, above. 1. Look, I own a true service animal, and I take it to the doctors office. There’s no law against taking a dog to a doctors office that would be up to the individual doctor to decide if he wishes to allow it in his premises. As for the Starbucks of course it’s illegal. You can’t bring an animal to any place that serves food or has food unless it is it true service animal not a companion animal, not a pet, but sometimes we’re overreacting. There are lots of places you can bring a dog some people consider ill advised, but it’s not illegal.

    2. I have two dogs…. Not everyone else in the world cares about my cute cuddly dogs… So I don’t bring them into public places they don’t belong in and neither should anyone else bring theirs! And what you consider cleaner than most people I guarantee is not as clean as my house so don’t tell me that you’re entitled to bring your dogs into public places because it’s probably cleaner then me…. Because it’s not!

    3. I have had dogs and cats for years. They love and are loved. What you clearly are incapable of understanding is we are mocking YOU! Yes YOU! Your PET may be intelligent and clean but I question your smarts and habits.

    4. The person who created this column won’t even identify themselves, but they shame mostly senior citizens. Why not write how dogs bring joy to people’s lives. You sound like a mean, bully. Shame on you.

  1. Andre,
Don’t, be so self righteous. I love dogs, I have always had dogs, unless it is a service dog they do not belong in any medical facility or food places. People need to be told
because they are too stupid and like to show others what they can get away with.

  2. It should be left up to the owner of the space to create dog policy that they will enforce. Anyone else can choose not to use that business.
I have had enough of government interference in private property rights.

    1. The owner and the businesses here are two separate entities, one is a landlord and one a tenant. A lease will favor the law to protect the landlord and more importantly, insurance companies who are in a landlord’s best interest to please in this market.

The government can interfere for public health and for good reason in these situations. A business which invites the public is not a fully private operation. It must abide by local health codes which are in place for good reason to protect the public from threats to their health.

  3. The government’s legitimate concerns include public health and welfare, so, no, regulating whether non-service animals are allowed in food establishments is NOT “interference” with private property rights.

In any event, Starbucks prohibits non-service animals, period:

So if you can only enjoy your coffee with your pet beside you, I suggest you get your Starbucks to go.

  4. The person who writes these articles about dogs is clearly very immature. Reading it gives off a childish view. My dog goes everywhere with me. She is trained legally by me and there is no law required for a special vest that only idiots believe is law. The writer is very ignorant.

    1. No one wants your dogs there. If your best friend would run away if you open the door, they’re a captive, but a friend or pet. They don’t need to be around food either.
