Crash Near Boca Bridges Slows Traffic Monday. How Did The Car End Up On A Hill?

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — One has to assume that if you drive a bright orange sports car, you seek attention wherever you can get it. One also has to assume that if you if you follow the law, don’t speed, and obey signs in construction zones, you don’t end up driving your orange sports car onto the side of a road. But when you drive near Boca Bridges, you really can’t assume anything.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue rushed to the scene of this orange car on Lyons Road — right across from Boca Bridges — around 9:05 this morning. Rescuers found the male driver of the car standing next to the car and apparently uninjured. But what isn’t clear is how the car ended on the embankment where there is no road, no driveway, and no sign that says, “please drive your bright orange sports car here.”
As we’ve reported, Lyons Road remains under a massive construction project that has continued for nearly two years. As we’ve also reported, signs and cones are everywhere, making it relatively clear where cars are supposed to go and where they are not. Why this car chose to go where it is not supposed to be is now a matter for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
This is certainly not the first incident on Lyons Road while construction continues, but this may be the first incident involving a brightly colored sports car that ended up in a one vehicle crash on the embankment. Read our previous Lyons Road coverage here.
