Delray Beach Man Declared Sex Offender

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man is officially a “sex offender,” according to court records obtained by BocaNewsNow.com and a booking record filed by the Palm Beach County Jail.

Douglas Ibarra of the 200 block of SE 10th Street in Delray Beach was convicted of multiple counts of “possessing, controlling, or intentionally viewing sexual performance by a child while in possession of ten or more images of child pornography.”

Ibarra was sentenced to five years in prison, with the addition of five years of probation time. He was first arrested back in March of 2023.

This is the order filed by Circuit Court Judge Caroline Shepherd: “The Defendant, DOUGLAS J IBARRA, has been convicted of POSSESS, CONTROL OR INTENTIONALLY VIEW SEXUAL PERFORMANCE BY A CHILD WHILE IN POSSESSION OF 10 OR MORE IMAGES OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, a violation of Florida Statute § 827.071 (5), on 12/05/2023. Said offense was committed on or about (between) 10/01/2021-03/22/2023. (2). As such, the Defendant, DOUGLAS J IBARRA, meets the statutory criteria of Florida Statute § 943.0435(1)(a) (2010) and the Court declares him a SEXUAL OFFENDER pursuant to the Statute. THEREFORE, it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that DOUGLAS J IBARRA is a SEXUAL OFFENDER pursuant to Florida Statute § 943.0435(1)(a) (2010) and as such is subject to any and all applicable notice and/or registration requirements under Florida Statute § 943.0435(1)(a) (2010). DONE AND ORDERED at West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida.”
