BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Rescuers are on the scene mid-day of a serious crash on Alligator Alley where a truck has overturned.
While initially reported as an overturned tractor-trailer, cameras from the Florida Department of Transportation indicate it’s a smaller vehicle. It is possible another vehicle is out of camera view.
The crash occurred in the area of Mile Marker 48. At least one person was so critically injured that Air Rescue from Miami Dade County was called to the scene.
Traffic is slowed — but does not appear to be stopped — in the area. The crash is reported as southbound with the closest cross-street being Snake Road.
