DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A popular bagel deli near Kings Point in Delray Beach was ordered closed by a health inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation after the inspector logged multiple violations ranging from dead roaches to soiled food debris on a counter. Bagel Tree at 6580 West Atlantic Avenue was ultimately allowed to reopen following a second inspection.

High Priority – Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. Observed 4 live roaches on ground under oven on left side cook line directly next to triple sink in kitchen Observed 2 live roaches behind fire extinguisher in kitchen Observed 3 live roaches inside or corner molding next to fire extinguisher in kitchen Observed 2 live roaches on ground under cook line equipment in kitchen Observed 1 live roach on ground in front of triple sink in kitchen. Observed 1 live roach on ground in front of flat top on cook line in kitchen Observed 1 live roach on wall next to ware washing machine in kitchen Observed 1 live roach on ceiling above ware washing machine in kitchen **Warning**

High Priority – Employee cracked raw shell eggs and then handled ready-to-eat food and/or clean equipment or utensils without washing hands. Discussed with operator operator instructed employee to change gloves and wash hands **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Intermediate – Food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime. Can opener blade soiled **Warning**

Basic – Floor soiled/has accumulation of debris. Observed under cook line equipment **Warning**

Observed approximately 8 dead roaches on ground under oven on left side cook line directly next to triple sink in kitchen Observed approximately 8 dead roaches on ground under cook line flip top coolers in kitchen. Observed approximately 2 dead roaches on ground under cook line flat top in kitchen Observed 4 dead roaches behind sign on wall at triple sink in kitchen **Warning**

Bagel Tree was ordered closed on January 25th. It was permitted to reopen January 26th.
