BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Expect intense thunderstorms and strong wind as the week gets underway in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and South Palm Beach County.
The National Weather Service says strong thunderstorms are expected across the region on Monday as a system moves through. While the storms are expected to move out Monday night, they’ll be followed by a day of potentially intense wind. A wind advisory is already in effect for Tuesday in Palm Beach County. The NWS issued this statement early Monday:
… WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TUESDAY TO 4 AM EST WEDNESDAY…
* WHAT… Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.
* WHERE… Metro Palm Beach County, Metro Broward County, Metropolitan Miami Dade, Coastal Palm Beach County, Coastal Broward County and Coastal Miami Dade County.
* WHEN… From 4 AM Tuesday to 4 AM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS… Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Expect a high around 70 degrees on Monday with a low in the mid-50s overnight. The high Tuesday will only be in the upper 60s.
