BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A homeowners association within Broken Sound Country Club is foreclosing on a homeowner who allegedly owes more than $10,000 in unpaid fees and dues.
The Laurel Point II HOA in Broken Sound says Jeffrey Karsin, owner of 2598 NW 53rd Street in Boca Raton owes $11,401.47. The complaint, just filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com says Karsin failed to pay quarterly assessments in January, April, July, and October of 2023. He allegedly owed $2213.88 for each quarter, bringing the unpaid total to $8855.52. Adding interest, late fees, costs, and attorney fees brings the total to $11,401.47.
The HOA asks a judge to place a lien of foreclosure on the property.
The home is listed 1,914 square feet under air and 2,401 square feet in total. Its total market value is $511,548. Taxes for 2023 are listed as $2,625, according to the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser.

The homeowner association dues seem awfully high for a small home. Probably need new board to manage costs..
Real estate taxes seem reasonable. Costs in this community are high to begin with. Minimum club dues are over $20,000 plus, plus . New club house and assessments make it expensive.
This is not news and it may be a person facing dire financial hardship.
It is news when it’s public record, in the court system, and in a country club where pretty much everyone else isn’t being foreclosed upon.
I agree. Thanks to Bidenomics everybody is having to cope with expenses never expected. This should NEVER have been reported. It only serves to embarrass someone and nothing else!
This shouldn’t be allowed. Place a lien to collect when sold, sure, but to take someone’s home??? Not even remotely acceptable.
That HOA !! If you live in those communities where HOA govers you are messerable I was one of then. Moving back home made a huge difference in my health and my finances.
