Delray Beach Pizza, Pasta Restaurant Shut Down By Health Inspector. Later Permitted To Reopen.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Rotelli Pizza and Pasta at 15064 Jog Road was ordered closed on February 20th by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. A health inspector logged multiple violations — including roach activity.

High Priority – Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. Observed 2 live roaches on 4 drawer reach in cooler under 8 burner stove on cook line in kitchen. Operator removed, cleaned and sanitized. Observed 1 live roach on ground in front of 4 drawer reach in cooler under 8 burner stove on cook line in kitchen. Operator removed, cleaned and sanitized. Observed 2 live roaches under 2 tier table on cook line in kitchen. Operator removed table from establishment **Warning**
High Priority – Raw animal food stored over/not properly separated from ready-to-eat food. Raw fish stored above cooked beef in cooler line drawers under burners. Operator reorganized **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**
Basic – Dead roaches on premises. Observed approximately 8 roaches on ground under fryer on cook line in kitchen. Observed 2 dead roaches on ground under right side triple sink drain board directly next to cook line in kitchen **Warning**
Rotelli was permitted to reopen on February 21st. We note that this same Rotelli Pizza and Pasta location was ordered closed in March of 2023.

This is Florida. Palmetto bugs/roaches are nearly impossible to irradicate. Based upon the fact that most of them were dead, I would believe that the restaurant was continuing to address the problem by extermination. I would not publicly bash a restaurant for a report such as this one!!! It is a tough business and they need our help not our bashing!!!
