Boca Raton. Delray Beach. Boynton Beach. West Palm Beach. Why Don’t These People Leave Their Fluffy Wuffy Puddles At Home?

Our first Boca Rudeton nominee today is this woman with a dog in a cart at Winn-Dixie at Boynton Beach Blvd. and Lyons Road.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Maybe there’s something in the air. Maybe people are just spending too much time posting inane things to NextDoor… (OMG! Someone stole a package from Century Village! There’s a Crime Spree!!!) But the number of people bringing dogs into places where they shouldn’t be in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and all over Palm Beach County seems to be back on the rise.

In today’s edition of Boca Rudeton, we find dogs (and maybe a cat) in places where they are not legally allowed… like supermarkets. Here’s a look at our nominees for March 2nd, 2024.

We start with the woman above in the Boynton beach Winn Dixie at Lyons Road and Boynton Beach Boulevard. While she gets a point for seemingly covering the cart with some sort of doggie blanket, she’s actually a big loser because she brought the dog into the store in the first place. It’s not allowed. There are laws.

Our next nominee is the woman below. We don’t know why you need a dog in Gyromania at Palmetto Park and Powerline Road, but this woman apparently felt the need. Food is out in the open. That dog should be nowhere near it. Know this if you’re planning to eat in that restaurant: you may want to think twice unless you like dogs near your Gyromania food.

%%

No, we don’t know why this woman has a dog in Gyromania at Palmetto Park and Powerline.

And technically, it’s fine to have a dog or a cat (or whatever this thing is) outside a restaurant in Florida, so there’s really no issue outside the Startbucks in Rosemary Square. But one of our readers in West Palm Beach wonders why that animal is being fed at a table where people sit and eat people food. We don’t know. But we certainly appreciate the questions.

%%
It’s legally okay to your animal outside a Starbucks at Rosemary Square in West Palm Beach, but we ponder what our source here ponders: what is this thing, and why is it being fed at a table where humans eat?

So who is our Boca Rudeton winner today? It’s a tough one, but let’s go with the lady with the dog in the cart at Winn Dixie in Boynton Beach. We don’t give prizes, but if we did, it would the Reader’s Digest version of Florida and federal laws and statutes that prohibit animals in supermarkets. Reader’s Digest tends to print in really big type, so we’d think it might make more of an impact than someone telling the woman to exercise common sense and civility.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. 1. In addition to the provisions about service dogs, the Department’s ADA regulations have a separate provision about miniature horses that have been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. (Miniature horses generally range in height from 24 inches to 34 inches measured to the shoulders and generally weigh between 70 and 100 pounds.) Entities covered by the ADA must modify their policies to permit miniature horses where reasonable. The regulations set out four assessment factors to assist entities in determining whether miniature horses can be accommodated in their facility. The assessment factors are (1) whether the miniature horse is housebroken; (2) whether the miniature horse is under the owner’s control; (3) whether the facility can accommodate the miniature horse’s type, size, and weight; and (4) whether the miniature horse’s presence will not compromise legitimate safety requirements necessary for safe operation of the facility.

      1. People breaking the law is pretty important I’d say. Maybe for folks like you who obviously think it’s just fine. Amy, in case you don’t get it, we live in a society where we all have to follow certain laws that are on the books even if you don’t agree with them. “No one is above the law”, is a favorite topic lately especially down here in South Florida, and it’s time that folks like you understand this.
So yes, this is still an important topic to report until you entitled folks get it! It ain’t that difficult to understand Amy!!!

  1. Well some people like myself have service dogs and we really need them with us .I don’t, think dogs belong in certain places but I’m sorry but I really need my dog with me. So people please think before you be so quick to judge. Just because someone doesn’t look like they need a service dog does not mean they don’t.Some of you mean, judgemental people are the reason some of us need one with us because you be rude to us without knowing our condition because we look normal.I know some people do it because they feel they can do whatever they want too because of their status. Now that’s where it is wrong !!

    1. Totally agree with you as I have a service dog and he helps me daily. He’s everything to me and has changes my life every day. He passed the courses and wears his service animal collar when i take him out.

    2. Parent of 2pups who tries to be considerate of others....

Then your dog should be wearing a LEGAL outfit and leash. If you or your dog cannot be left home alone then both of you need to STAY HOME! If your dog cannot determine you are on the verge of collapse, and cannot assist you in that case…..you are NOT disabled enough to tote around food stores and resturants with each other. Guess us “mean and judgemental people” have been living in Florida just fine for many, many years and have obeyed ALL LAWS, regarding disability dogs. Those who have only shown up recently and decided they make up their own laws better start following the law or go somewhere else.

    3. Boy I would hate to come to one of your parties, you probably have rules for making sure you hold the form correctly, c’mon enjoy your life don’t get bogged down with pretty laws like these

    4. You don’t have an actual service dog…… you have what these other people have. Emotional comfort pet. There is a difference…. Huge difference. Only dogs who have received specialized training to perform a specific task or tasks for an individual with a disability are considered service animals. This is the key difference between a service animal and all other types of working animals, including therapy, comfort animals, and emotional support animals.

  2. Don’t you have anything better to report? That first pup “the winner” clearly has a vest on. Pay attention people. The dogis also on a blanket, not touching the cart.

      1. The dog in the cart is cleaner then a baby in a cart.
I cannot leave my pup home alone. He is my support dg and I am his support mom.
If you had a pet, you would understand .
People who never had a pet are germ phonics.. Stay in your own lane, and mind your own business..

        1. There is no such thing as a “support mom” and ESA’s are specifically prohibited from supermarkets by law. Maybe order delivery or curbside pickup.

      2. No dog is allowed in the shopping cart BY LAW, even Service dogs, who must be tethered by leash under control of disabled owner. Some smaller breed service dogs that alert to owners breath must be in special disabled owner’s vest or special sling. An emotional support animal, which this may be, is not allowed in grocery stores or restaurants regardless of any Amazon bought vest or blanket. That only allows dog to reside in usually pet-restricted housing.

      3. Totally doesn’t matter Dianne. Guess you can’t read or think with your brain because any animal besides a “service animal” is not allowed in a supermarket or restaurant. Is that too hard for your brain to understand??? Guess you either can’t read or have a brain injury that prevents you from understanding the written word. Regardless, we all need to follow the laws. PERIOD!

      4. NO ANIMAL SHOULD BE IN A STORE NO MATTER HOW SMALL. THESE PEOPLE WITH THIS DOGS SHOULD START TO THINK ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE BESIDE THEMSELVES. WE SHOULD ALL STOP SHOPPING IN THE STORES THAT ALLOW THESE DOGS IN ANY STORE NO MATTER WHAT. WHEN YOU GO TO MANAGEMENT THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TELL PEOPLE TO REMOVE THEMSELVES AND THEIR PET FROM THE STORE. I DONT SEE WHY IF ITS THE HEALT FACTOR INVOLVED IN FOOD STORES OR ANY STORE THEY DONT BELONG THERE EXDO IF THEY HAVE THEM ON LEASHES AND THE DOG IS WANDERING IN AND OUT OF PEOPLES LEGS, I KNOW BECAUSE A DOG WENT AROUNF MY LEG AND ALMOST MADE ME FALL GOOD THING I HAD A CARRIAGE OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE FLOOR. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE A NEED TO TRAPSE AROUND WITH THESE ANIMALS. WHAT THE HELL SOMEBODY PLEASE GET THEM TO STOP ITS BECOMING HAZARDESS.

    1. They should start fining law breakers that bring non-Service animals into any food store or restaurant. A pet or even ESA emotional support animal not allowed at outside dining tables unless restaurant has special license for specific tables and there are still rules; can not be on table or chairs only floor or customers’ doggie buggie, served in dedicated pet serves are or disposable. Fine should then be allocated to assist qualifying disabled persons purchasing a trained service dog

      1. I agree and This is the only way this is ever going to change is if you hit them in their pocket, if those establishments do something about this ,but they won’t. Because only a person has to do is go online and say that these stores hate pet owners and they’re going to lose a heck of a lot of their business . That’s just the sad reality of it

    2. Don’t you think it would be kinder to publish pictures of good people doing great things in the community instead of these pictures and calling out people as rude? You do not know the circumstances in these people’s lives to chastise and put out these pictures. If we all had a pet around for comfort and company, this world would be a happier place.

    3. I have been reading your Boca rudeaton for the past few months. While I agree with you on for most of the part, I think its time to move on. People love their pets and treat them like a child . They bring them everywhere. Why can you not leave the dog owners alone. Focus on other things.

    4. Who ever writes this column has no clue about food. My friend has a very large farm in Michigan and the products that are used to grow the food and protect it from bugs, vermin and disease can give you cancer. It’s on the TV everyday. There are heavy metals in the soil that the plants grow in which transfers into the product you buy. You buy it by the bags and chow down like it’s harmless. But for some odd reason people seem to think that the food in the store is absolutely pristine when in reality your eating tainted foods whether it be fresh meat, fresh veggies, fresh fruit or dairy.
So posting a picture of a little old lady with probably the only real friend she may have and saying it’s an absolute crime is Ludacris. We are on the verge of a full blown war in the USA from terrorists and your worried about a dog. Your going to be thankful to eat a half eaten tomato off the ground should a war actually start here. Stop being snobs and get a life.

      1. So now following the law makes us all “snobs now? Am I hearing you right Sonny? Seriously dude, do you have a problem following simple English? Seems to me that “entitled” folks like yourself are the real problem here. Stop thinking you’re better then the rest of us and life will run a lot smoother. And I think anyone with a working brain can understand this! If something is against the law, don’t do it…end of discussion. Leave your pets at home and if this isn’t possible, get your food delivered! Problem solved.

    5. Are ALL the folks in Boca such ‘Karens’? The dogs in those pictures are likely cleaner than the author of this article and lots of the produce in these markets. And the one you picked as the ‘winner’ of your ridiculous opinion letter was wearing a vest indicating it is a registered ‘support’ animal. Shame on you for misdirecting your ire when so many important injustices surround us all.

    6. I had a 3 pound Chihuahua. I took her everywhere to the doctor to restaurants to the store. Nobody ever said a word about her. Her feet never touched the floor in that store. When she passed away, I lost.It . It took me a year to leave my house. i’m in a wheelchair you don’t know my problems. She helped me in so many ways..

      1. Sorry for your loss! Our pets do become our family as they bring so much joy to us. Remember when our first pup passed after a freak accident, I was in junior high and I was home for almost a week grieving for my bud Kelly, our first pup. So yes, I get how much folks love their animals but that’s not the point here folks. Following the law is the subject and nothing more. Doesn’t make us bad people for wanting others to follow the rules like the rest of us do…that’s how a civilized society works. Don’t like it…that’s too bad but no one’s asking your opinion here.

    7. Thank you so much for your article!

I thought i was the only one who cant stand this!

Its time to start locking these people up.

      $1,000 minimum fine per violation.

Dogs are dirty. Leave them at home.

      Dogs licking plates in restauraunts…

      Ga rooosee
