BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A food service worker at West Boca Raton Medical Center is accused of telling a patient that a drink in a plastic cup was “bouillon,” when it was actually urine. The patient’s son — who was testing the drink to make sure it was cool — allegedly became violently ill after drinking the bodily fluid.

In the lawsuit, obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Randal Tompkins, Jr., was “in his father’s room at West Boca Medical Center when a food service employee at the hospital delivered a tray which contained food and drink to the bedside of the Plaintiff’s father. The food service employee announced that the drink was ‘bouillon.’ At said time and place, the Plaintiff, his father, and his father’s doctor were in the room. The Plaintiff, in an effort to check the temperature of the ‘bouillon’ before serving it to his father, tested and took a sip of the liquid. He immediately realized that it was not ‘bouillon’ but that it was urine. The Plaintiff spit out the urine and was both shocked and sickened.”

There was no explanation as to how urine ended up on a food service tray.

Also from the complaint: “As a direct and proximate result of the negligence of the Defendant, West Boca Medical Center, Inc., the Plaintiff Ronald Thompkins, Jr., suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment, and other economic damages. The Plaintiff Ronald Thompkins, Jr., will further suffer conditions not yet diagnosed. The losses are either permanent or continuing and the Plaintiff will continue to suffer losses in the future.”

The suit seeks in excess of $50,000, the statutory minimum for filing in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. West Boca Medical Center, which is owned by Tenet Health which operates under the name “Palm Beach Health Network,” had not filed a response as of early Thursday morning.

Mr. Thompkins is represented by The Moses Legal Team of Boca Raton.

    1. Some idiot thinking it was funny. There are strange people in the world. He’ll have to have HIV testing done..if the dr was in the room, doubt it was the plaintiff. Big bucks here.

      1. You’re very unintelligent. HIV does not come out in urine because it’s STERILE. You are just another uneducated fool spouting off at the mouth about things you know nothing about. You are the reason why I hate social media. 🤦‍♂️

      2. You obviously haven’t EVER done your research regarding AIDS or HIV, because it cannot be transmitted via pee! Are you living in 1990 or something?! Holy crap, bro. You are so uneducated! Google is right there! USE IT! For god’s sake! SMH.

    2. It smells like p-ss! No one in today’s ultra-capitalist world is going to risk their cruddy job (that they absolutely NEED) to pee in someone’s soup. We’re literally living “1984” at this point. Everyone is watching and even when their not, there are so many ways for the “Thought Police” to prove what you were thinking when you tried to scam the man. I guarantee the “pee soup” was immediately thrown away so there’s no way to test it. And even if there was something to test, by the time some form of legality had arrived the plantiff could have just peed in the bowl quickly while no one was looking. Hell, this sounds premeditated so he could have had pee ready ta’go in a ziplock baggy. I call straight bullshnip on this! The pee-drinker is hoping the hospital settles outside of court, but I hope they take it all the way to prove this guy just likes drinking pee. I’m kinky AF but I’ve never drank pee before and cannot tell you what it tastes like. However, I know pee is sterile and I’ve seen adult (lol) videos of weirdos drinking lots of it and never getting sick. In fact, isn’t there a whole health craze about drinking your own urine? Or at least there was! That dude is lying! But sadly, is it really his fault? Hospital bills, healthcare bills, ALL BILLS are outrageous and we as common Americans cannot survive on the lowly wages we are given for our hardwork. I make more than average and I still can barely make ends meet. Desperate times require desperate measures. While I don’t agree with his OBVIOUS SCAM, I understand the desperate need for money to just survive. I think the judge should only give him a slap on the wrist and a piss in the mouth.

  1. I FEEL IT JUST A BIG MISTAKE THAT THE URINE CUP WAS ON HIS FOOD TRAY.BUT IF THIS IS TRUE THIS WAS A HORRIBLE MISTAKE AND THE HOSPITAL WORKER SHOULD BE SUSPENDED FROM HIS JOB.
