Something Inappropriate Occurred, According To Parents. But For Second Time In Months, District Hiding Details About Adult, Student Situation…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School District, for the second time in just months, is refusing to provide information regarding an allegedly inappropriate incident between a student and an employee at West Boca High School. The School District, which has lost two communication directors over the past 18 months, is inexplicably refusing to answer questions about the latest incident.
Parents contacting BocaNewsNow.com say they are “disgusted” with the School District’s handling of information — first involving an apparently relationship between a student and a female employee who served as both a teacher and coach. The employee was released during a probationary period earlier this year. Now, the Palm Beach County School District is refusing to release information regarding the most recent incident which left a school principal to send this message:
”I am writing to inform you of inappropriate digital communication that occurred between a non-instructional contractor and at least one student. It is currently being investigated by School Police.
That individual has been removed from the campus and will not return. The safety of our students is our highest priority. Parents, please take this opportunity to speak to your students about the importance of knowing who they are communicating with either through social media or any other platform or tool.
Please understand that because this is an open investigation, I cannot provide any further details regarding the investigation at this time. Anyone with additional information is asked to call School District Police Dispatch at (561) 434-8700, attention to Lt. Cecil Wagner. I am proud of our students who knew to find a trusted adult.”
The School District, once a model for communications, is now potentially violating Florida Statute 119 — the Florida Sunshine law — through its continued suppression of information. Worse, it’s creating a culture of distrust between students, parents, educators, and the media. District “spokespeople” are only sending unsigned emails.

WHAT ABOUT FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT?
Someone should bring a lawsuit…everyone has a right to know what is going on, and why
The coverup?
The reference to the first female employee is completely inaccurate. The situation had nothing to do with an alleged interaction with a student. It was based on an 100% parent-let Super Bowl squares fundraiser for an undisclosed cheer program in West Boca. A small group of parents used this as influence to have the employee removed to benefit their children. This same fundraising format has been used by other sports in West Boca for years without issue from administration. The real story should be about how and why parents have such influence over school administration. Who is actually running the school? The purpose of education is to challenge students to walk outside of their comfort zone and overcome adversity. But, the cancel culture is alive and well in West Boca!
My apologies. I should clarify that the employee had no involvement with the fund raiser, and once made aware of its existence, disclosed it to administration. Also, the parents that led the fundraiser were not the same ones that used influence in having the employee removed.
