BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School Board is set to settle two school bus crashes for nearly $200,000. The settlements are expected to be approved during the April 17th school board meeting.

In the first case, a bus driver is accused of crashing into a vehicle driven by Frankie Cardinale who sustained injuries. This is the official narrative provided by the Palm Beach County School District.

”The plaintiff’s vehicle was stopped for traffic on Lyons Road, when the District’s school bus turned right from Spanish Isle onto Lyons Road and collided with plaintiff’s vehicle. DATE OF LOSS: May 17, 2022 INJURIES: Plaintiff was diagnosed with strains/sprains in her cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, and required shoulder surgery post-accident. MEDICAL COSTS: The plaintiff presented approximately $85,652 in medical charges; with an outstanding balance of $20,481.22 remaining.”

In the second case, a bus driver is accused of crashing into a vehicle driven by Jacqueline Stubbs. Here’s how the school district describes this case:

”ACCIDENT: The driver of a District school bus made a wide right turn from Linton Blvd. on Germantown Rd. and collided with the Plaintiff’s vehicle. DATE OF LOSS: August 11, 2022 INJURIES: Spinal herniations with extrusion, and cord impingements are the alleged injuries relating to the accident. MEDICAL COSTS: $41,612.03 to date, with approximately $30,000 additional exposure for scheduled future treatment.”

Attorneys for the Palm Beach County School District have approved both settlements.
