BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Charges are “imminent” against at least two teens seen tossing trash into the Boca Inlet during Boca Bash on Sunday. BocaNewsNow.com has learned that charges could be filed as early as today.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigators say they have identified two of the teens seen tossing what appear to be beer bottles from a vessel named the “Halcyon” in Boca Inlet on Sunday during the private “Boca Bash” event. The event itself led to nearly 20 arrests and is considered a nuisance by many who live near or on Lake Boca. The arrests were primarily for “boating under the influence” and drug possession.

The teens were seemingly caught on video dumping a large trashcan of bottles into the waters of the Inlet. The video identified the vessel and many people tipped off police, media, and others as to who the teens were, where they go to school, where they live, who their parents are, and what business they own. We are not publishing this information unless it becomes part of the public record through an official charging document. We note that no charges had been filed as of 5:30 a.m. Friday.

FWC issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com on Thursday evening: “On Monday, April 29, 2024, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers were made aware of an incident involving the illegal dumping of litter into the ocean in Palm Beach County. A viral video depicts several individuals on a boat traveling out of Boca Inlet at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28; two of the boat’s occupants can be seen dumping garbage cans full of trash into the water. While this investigation remains open, FWC Investigators have identified the two juvenile suspects, and are working closely with the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office on appropriate charges, which are imminent. If you were involved in or have direct knowledge of this incident and would like to come forward, please contact the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-3922.”
