BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A warrant has been issued for a Palm Beach County woman who is believed to have taken the three children seen in the image, above. Police in West Palm Beach issued the following statement to BocaNewsNow.com:
“The non-custodial mother of three brothers who have been missing since their legal guardian died last week now faces charges after failing to bring the boys to meet with police and caseworkers from the Florida Department of Children and Families.
After the boys’ uncle was taken to the hospital in the early morning hours of May 8, the brothers took a rideshare to stay with Maria Trinidad Perez, 36. Perez, who does not have legal custody of the boys, refused to meet with police, and left a Greenacres motel where she was staying before the boys’ lawyer and deputies from Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office showed up, despite assurances through the lawyer that she would not be arrested if she complied. Extensive searches by tactical teams, patrol officers and bulletins alerting area police agencies throughout the weekend did not locate Perez or the boys.
On May 13, West Palm Beach Police Department Special Victims Unit detectives made a final attempt to negotiate a meeting without arrest through the boys’ attorney. When Perez again failed to respond, an arrest warrant was signed early Monday night by a Palm Beach County judge.
Perez will face three counts of interference with custody. Nicholas, eight, Gabriel, 13, and Juan Pablo Garnica Perez, 16, have not been in school since they left their custodial home. If you see Maria Perez or the siblings, or know where they are, call 911 and mention West Palm Beach case #7991.”
