DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The woman who slammed into a group of people crossing Atlantic Avenue on New Year’s Eve in 2022 is now legal to drive again. Nadya Pearlman’s license was suspended for six months. It is now reinstated.

As we reported in the days and months after the incident, Pearlman, 75 at the time, “was driving on Atlantic Avenue around 11 p.m. on December 31st, 2022, while holding her phone and videotaping near the Intracoastal Bridge. As pedestrians crossed Atlantic Avenue, Pearlman slammed into them. Multiple people were injured. Area resident Birinder Singh later died from his injuries.” Several other victims were seriously injured.

Pearlman entered a plea of “no contest” to a charge of careless driving — the only charge filed against her by prosecutors after the investigation by Delray Beach Police. She was sentenced to driving school, a six month suspension, and ordered to pay a $1000 fine. There were no charges filed specifically relating to the death.

There is also no record of Palm Beach County civil litigation resulting from the crash, death, and injuries. Pearlman lived on Bolero Circle in Delray Beach at the time of the crash.

  1. HOW CAN ANY PERSON BE GIVEN CARELESS DRIVNG WHEN 1 PERSON MURDERED. OTHERS WERE PROBABLY BADLY INJURED. EVEN IF 75 YEARS OLD SHOULD BE INCARCERATED. NOW A LETHAL WEAPON IS BACK ON THE STREET. THIS IS WRONG. ANOTHER CASE OF INJUSTICE AND MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE. POOR EXPLANATION MUCH HAVE HAD A GREAT LAWYER AND COVERUP.

    1. I agree 1000% I’m sick over this. I guarante in next few months she does something similar again! Where is the outrage? Oh yeah I forgot..these people only comment about DOG’S ON HERE!

  2. Instead of getting her license back, she should be in prison. This is a terrible example of preferential justice. Who does she know? Who was the judge? This is despicable.

  3. SHEEEEEEEEEES BACK!!! After our failed judicial system gave her a whole 6 month licence suspension for killing and maiming people while video-taping on her cell phone while driving her car. I hope she pays financially to the injured and the family of the person she killed. This entire case smacks of pol
    itical favoritism.
