BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A body was found Sunday morning in a large brush fire in North Broward County. The Broward Sheriff’s Office and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue shared this information with BocaNewsNow.com:

“At approximately 11:00 a.m. this morning, Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to a large brush fire at 3161 N. Dixie Highway. People driving along Dixie Highway reported the fire.

As firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, they discovered the remains of a badly charred body. It is unknown if the deceased is a male or female. Numerous encampments were discovered in the wooded area.

The fire was extinguished, and the cause of the fire and subsequent death is being investigated by the City of Pompano Beach Fire Investigators, the State Fire Marshal, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office.”
