BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A major traffic situation is expected on Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach Monday as what seems to be unexpected construction is going to lead lane and possible road closures through Wednesday. Motorists are being advised Sunday to consider alternate routes for the next few days if your travel takes you through the area.
Palm Beach County issued this advisory to BocaNewsNow.com:
“Palm Beach County Engineering and Public Works (EPW) notifies the public of an extended lane closure of the southbound left and center through lanes on N. Congress Avenue approximately 200 feet north of Boynton Beach Boulevard (S.R. 804) at the L.W.D.D. L-24 Canal.
These lanes are closed and traffic is reduced to a single southbound lane on N. Congress Avenue due to an ongoing construction project. This lane closure is expected to be in place until Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Our Traffic Division staff have adjusted the signal timing accordingly within this area during the duration of this lane closure to help with the flow of traffic.
To ensure the safety of our workers and fellow drivers, EPW urges the public to exercise caution and drive safely through the construction work zone during the lane closure.”
