Welcome To Boca Rudeton For Saturday. The Rudeness Continues Across South Palm Beach County.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We don’t know who let the dogs out, but we do know who’s bring them into stores and restaurants where they do not belong. The answer, it would seem, is the people who are documented by the BocaNewsNow.com Dog Force. A group of self-motivated individuals who send in photos of things around the area that just don’t look right — like people with dogs in super markets and restaurants.
We start with the photo above from Sprouts in Boca Raton. Readers suggested that whether the thing seen between the man and woman is a service animal or not, it has no business being in a business where food is out in the open and at the same level of the beast’s snout. “These people are disgusting” wrote a reader. We don’t know if they’re disgusting or not, but we do tend to agree that they’re looking for attention. Look! They got it! Apparently rude people who felt it necessary to bring a beast into Sprouts Boca Raton, instead of — work with us here — just sending one person in to get the food while the other person waited outside with their own family member cast in “Where The Wild Things Are.”

We continue in Whole Foods Boca Raton — a frequent offender location — with the man who may think that no one can see the dog in his bag. We see it. So did everyone else who walked by. And that led to a simple question: why do you have a dog in a bag in a store that sells fresh food and is known for keeping that fresh food in the open?

Our next submission comes from a reader who questions whether the dog seen with the “service animal” vest really is a service animal. The reader questions the size of the dog and wonders what legitimate function it is officially trained to perform. We don’t know if it is a service animal or not, but we do know that you can buy those vests on Amazon, and that there are huge signs at Publix that prohibit non-legitimate-service-animals from entering. And we remind our readers that an “emotional support animal” is not a service animal. This was apparently seen at the Publix Hidden Valley in Boca Raton.
So who is our Boca Rudeton winner for this Saturday? Drum roll, please. It’s “Where The Wild Things Are” — the beast-like animal seen with two people called “disgusting” by the reader who sent in the photo. People with the beat: we congratulate you on your Boca Rudeton win and award you a copy of “Where The Wild Things Are” and the new supplement, “Keep Your Wild Things At Home Where They Belong Because No One Wants Your F-Ing Beast In The Place Where They Buy Fresh Food.” Way to go!
We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions (animals, bad parkers, you name it!) to us using the news tip button above. Share your thoughts about these animals in our comment section, below. Is it possible that these dog owners don’t know the difference between an emotional support dog, and a handicapped service dog, and the rules the apply. A woman who just got a letter from her doctor for an emotional support dog said she thought she could take her dog grocery shopping.
The should have a sign that says trained service dogs only are aloud in the store, and not emotional support pets.
Today at Publix, 4771 West Atlantic, Delray Beach, a woman brought her dog into the store and held it while she walked over to the meat dept. It was too close for someone who nicely said she was allergic and asked her to please keep her distance. The dog was a few inches away from her. The woman with the dog replied that her dog was hypoallergenic and proceeded towards her. This is the new defense.
Publix should hire a security guard at the door.
Why can’t the police be called to give tickets to the owners?
May be then they will stop bringing their dogs.
I work in Boca town center, police are always present and say nothing to these dog owners. It’s the ones with the Doberman or Great Dane that get me.
I am a dog owner and I would never bring my dog into any store food or otherwise so I’m not bashing the dogs only the selfish self centered so called privileged individuals. The store won’t call because they don’t want to jeopardize their business. They are in-fear of losing customers if they call the police or tell the customer with the dog they have to leave the store other customers see this and sympathize with the customer with the dog. I was in Aldi’s a few wks ago & this man comes in with a very large dog bigger than a German Shepherd I went to the manager and asked “ you allow this”? She didn’t even see him with the dog until I pointed him out to her.She went over to him (I watched the whole scene) said a few words and came back to where I was standing. She said he told her he was a “service dog”. The dog did not have any signs on him. I said you didn’t ask for proof….he is supposed to be carrying proof on his person. She said she didn’t think of asking him this. Same scenario at the BJ’s at Parkland. This was very unkempt hairy beast of a dog….not aggressive but quiet. When I asked the staff why the dog was allowed in the store they said the manager has to tell the customer to leave.so where’s the manager? The stores don’t care they should be getting a ticket for violating the law.
Is it possible to educate people? Pets are NOT service animals, as BNN has so clearly pointed out.
I’ve heard one in 4 people have some sort of mental or emotional issues. These people are clearly not dealing with a full deck of cards. It is arrogant to impose your pet on other shoppers. They should be fined, for sure. And this behavior should be broadcast more widely. BNN does a good job, but it does not reach everyone.
I wish the photos with the dogs would show full faces of the owners so they are identified for all to see!
That’s a service dog. Service dogs in Florida do not need to be identified. You are a bad person.
You are wrong. Service dogs have to be identified as a “service dog” by wearing their harness indicating “service dog” to distinguish it from any other dog. This alerts all stores, restaurants, public establishments such as pools and parks in the event the owner should experience a life threatening event that the service dog is trained to notice and to alert those in his surroundings .
Wrong Not saying that’s ok, but that’s the Federal ADA law. Service Dogs do nt have to be identified.
I HOPE THEY URINATE ON YOUR FOOD. DOGS DONT BELONG NEAR FOOD CONSUMED BY OTHER PEOPLE. HOW DO YOU KNOW IF THAT DOG HAS FLEAS OR TICKS AND THE BUGS DECIDE THEY LIKE THE FOOD, PETS ARE GREAT BUT KEEP THEM OUT OF PLACES THAT HAVE FOOD UNLESS ITS A PET SUPERMARKET.
Usually the dogs are small. This last one was so big, it could be saddled and riden…lol. To me, the people don’t care if you don’t like it or not. Just wait until it has an accident. People will certainly be aware of it then.
Some years ago, the business where I worked, had a gentlemen come in with a small poodle. He often came in, and he made it a point to let security know that the dog was a trained service dog to alert the man of a seizure condition. The info was shared with all interested people, and he was not bothered again. The gentleman was under no legal obligation to inform the business of his dogs paperwork, but advised staff out of courtesy and, again the man was never bothered again. Not every service dog is large. This poodle was necessary to this man You cannot judge every person, because you don’t know of the dog’s particular training or the person’s disability.
IF PEOPLE MUST HAVE AN ANIMAL WITH THEM TO SURVIVE MAYBE THEY NEED A THERAPIST NOT A DOG.
Unexcusable Blatant rude behavior. They should be identified and banned from the business.Im sure they act rude everywhere.on the roads in malls,in Restaurants.ive lived and worked in the area for 30 years rediculous.
Get grip it’s not that serious Some this pets are cleaner than most people. Unless you have a pet or a child you’re never understand. Get a life or a pet your not nice people.
YOU WANT DOGS SLOBBERING AND DEFACATING IN A FOOD STORE OR RESTAURANT THEN M,AYBE YOU SHOULD SHOP AT PET SUPERMARKET NOT IN A GROCERY OR RESTAURANT.
First off a copy of the “American Disability Act” should be required reading for “Service Dog” owners and the Doctors who sign off on these mostly fraudulent “Handicap” blue parking tags. These fraudulent tags that hang from vehicles should be fined and precluded from these establishments when found in violation of the “Act” and local regulations! I remember a time when traveling or eating out the ONLY time you would see a real handicapped dog owner on a plane or in a restaurant the dog owner was blind, deaf or missing a limb.
To say these dogs in a bag, little white “foo foo dogs etc. wearing a “Service Dog” vest is just plain ridiculous and illegal! I ask what legitimate training and service do these dogs provide in accordance with the ADA?
Enough all ready!
I saw a very large dog with a young woman that she could not handle, lift its leg and urinate in the dairy department. Would you buy food out of a store that would allow that kind of activity to happen? What if somebody brought their pet goat or their pet pig? It’s my opinion if you’re that emotionally stressed out that you have to have an animal with you you shouldn’t be shopping alone and you shouldn’t be driving a car.
It’s far more rude to take pictures of the dogs. Palestinian terrorist sympathizers are taking over campuses and spitting on American values, but you are worried about someone taking to their out to a store? Gimme a break.
Right, Let’s forget about all the things that make a difference in our daily lives (bringing animals in grocery stores, illegal parking in handicapped spots, cleanliness violations in restaurants) because there is a war going on the other side of the world.
Wrong we are not that narrow minded we can act intelligently on all fronts
It’s just a sign of the times. There is probably a homeless person camped out by the dumpster of each of these stores. Eating leftovers and rotten food. Meanwhile Marmaduke is inside strolling the aisle getting samples from his owners. Beyond that I always wonder about the cleanliness of anyone that is this boundary free with their pets. If OUR stores are free range, imagine their own kitchens, cars, bedrooms, bathrooms. Anything they personally make probably has dog saliva in it, or fecal matter. No thanks, don’t bring anything to the party!
This catastrophe ALL started with the 1990 “Disabilities Act” and is being used now for anything and everything. The genie is so far out of the bottle she’s on Pluto now. Until you revoke the act itself, it’s is still the sprouting phase. Emotional pigs on planes who “squirt” excrement in such a way the plane has to land and be completely sanitized (days), barking dogs at all hours in strictly “no Pet” housing. “Mental conditions” cards so you board planes first. Wheel-chair abuse so horrendous they are referred to as “Billy Graham” flights where passengers are wheeled aboard the plane, but miraculously are able to “walk-off” at their destination! Good luck trying to fix this, oh wait the genie is now on alpha Centauri!
Don’t the store owners have an obligation to uphold health codes?
If they failed other health codes (meat storage, insect infestation, etc) they’d be shut down by the health department, wouldn’t they?
These individuals and the establishments need to be issued fines each time this occurs else this will likely not change.
We have to remember that it’s not the dog’s fault first and foremost can the dog help it if his owners are idiots let’s be real
