COCONUT CREEK, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Coconut Creek police department nabbed a Boca Raton woman who detectives believe used the identification of a Miami woman to purchase furniture at El Dorado Furniture at 5855 Lyons Road.

According to a police report filed with the Broward County Clerk of Courts and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Jennifer Montes, 36, financed several thousand dollars worth of furniture using the identification and credit information of a victim in Miami. Montes then, according to the police report, had the furniture delivered to her home in the 21100 block of White Oak Avenue in West Boca Raton.

While it was not immediately clear how Montes obtained the information she allegedly used to perpetrate the fraud, it is known that Montes has a history of arrest. The booking photo, above, is from a Palm Beach County arrest earlier this year. Her Broward County booking photo was unavailable mid-day Monday. Montes, in Palm Beach County, has been arrested on a warrant for an unspecified incident earlier this year in Boynton Beach, and child cruelty in 2023.

Montes bonded out of jail in Broward County and is now awaiting an arraignment. That is set for July 1st, 2024, in Broward County. She is officially charged with Grand Theft in the Third Degree; Criminal Use of Personal Identification in the Third Degree; and Criminal Use of Personal ID in the Second Degree.
