BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach man is dead after crashing into a utility pole, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. PBSO says Francois Bourgoin, Jr., of Southern Cross Circle, died shortly after the Saturday crash at Delray Medical Center. He was 40 years old.

This is the official narrative from accident investigators who refer to Bourgoin as “D1” (Driver 1), and his 2012 Hyundai Accent as “V1” (vehicle 1).

“V-1 was traveling east on Boynton Beach Boulevard, approaching a red light at the intersection with Platina Avenue. For reason(s) unknown, D-1 lost control of V-1 and crossed over the raised median just west of the intersection. V-1 traveled across the intersection in a northeast direction and drove off the northeast corner of the intersection crossing over the raised curb and sidewalk area.

The front of V-1 then struck a concrete utility pole and came to final rest. D-1 was transported by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue to Delray Medical Center for treatment where D-1 was pronounced deceased at 0833 hours by the on duty trauma physician.”
