Coconut Creek Police On The Scene Just South Of Boca Raton.

UPDATE: 9:34 p.m. — Lyons road was just reopened at 9:15 p.m. Coconut Creek Police confirm that one person was killed. The investigation continues.

COCONUT CREEK, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Police in Coconut Creek tell BocaNewsNow.com that they are on the scene around 5:30 p.m. of a fatal crash on Lyons Road. Lyons is closed just south of the Boca Raton line.
According to police, “northbound Lyons, near Fern Forest,is closed between the Turnpike overpass and Atlantic Blvd. so officers can safely investigate a possible traffic fatality involving a pedestrian. We received the 911 call at 4:42 p.m.
The location of the incident is the 200 block of South Lyons Road. Detours are set up and the investigation is ongoing.”
This is creating significant traffic delays in the area. Motorists are encouraged to head west to U.S. 441, but significant backups are now being reported as the Lyons traffic is rerouted. We’ll provide updates as we receive them from Coconut Creek Police.
