BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Stretch Zone location in Boynton Beach, which operates as part of “Stretch Zone Treasure Coast, Inc.,” is facing a lawsuit in Palm Beach County Circuit Court by a woman who claims she was critically injured while be stretched by an untrained employee.

Alexandra Glikman says a worker — whose name is redacted from the suit — was supposed to be a “trained practitioner” with the Stretch Zone operation. But “on or about November 3, 2023, (the defendant) employed excessive force and over-stretched, pushed, and/or exceeded the normal range of motion on Plaintiff’s right leg, causing injury to Plaintiff’s right leg. As a result of the defendant’s over-stretching, pushing, and/or exceeding range of motion of Plaintiff’s right leg, Plaintiff fractured her right femur, requiring surgical intervention.”

She alleges that Stretch Zone failed to implement proper and safe stretching exercise policies and procedures, failed to safeguard invitees from bodily injury resulting from improper stretch techniques, failed to refrain from excessively strenuous conditioning, failed to warn clients about risk of the stretching exercises, and failed to monitor and adjust stretching exercises based on individual client feedback and complaints.

The suit states that Glikman suffered permanent losses, including but not limited to bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, expenses of hospitalization, and more. She seeks in excess of $50,000 which is the statutory minimum for filing in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.

Stretch Zone Treasure Coast, Inc., had not filed a response to the lawsuit as of Friday afternoon, June 28th, 2024. Glikman is represented by Goldberg and Rosen, P.A., of Miami.

  1. Fractured her right femur? Do you know what excessive force and trauma you would need. that is basically the thigh bone.
As owner of a therapeutic Spa, i would say leave it to the professionals.
The stretch places are nothing more than certified trainers that get taught how to stretch people.
I hope she gets every penny.
