BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — That was fast! School for students in the Palm Beach County School District starts three weeks from today. August 12th is the official start date for students — although some students in Kindergarten and other lower grades MAY have a staggered start depending on school and/or grade. Your school will reach out with details.

Teachers are set to return to school in just two weeks. August 5th is the first day of school for educators and other staffers in the Palm Beach County School District. The District is completely closed on August 2nd — then the year gets underway.

Once school starts, students and teachers will be in school for all of six days before schools is closed on August 20th for a holiday. It’s “National Bacon Lovers” day, although we do not believe that’s the actual cause for the closure. School resumes on August 21st and continues for several more days. School is closed again for Labor Day on Monday, September 2nd.

We will publish the full Palm Beach County School District calendar as the school year approaches. Area private school students enjoy a few extra weeks of summer, as they traditionally follow more of a “northeastern” schedule — starting closer to September and continuing into early June.
