PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A mom claims her daughter slipped and fell at the Palm Beach Zoo, sustaining what she describes as critical injuries. That mom is now suing the Zoological Society of the Palm Beach, which operates as the “Palm Beach Zoo,” for more than $50,000. As we mention with all lawsuits, the statutory minimum for filing in Palm Beach County Circuit Court is $50,000. A jury may ultimately decide how much the case is worth — if anything.
BocaNewsNow.com obtained the complaint filed by Cristelle Miller whose daughter Aniya Miller the alleged victim. Here’s what suit alleges:
“The Defendant, ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF THE PALM BEACH BEACHES, INC., d/b/a PALM BEACH ZOO, created a dangerous and defective condition by negligently failing to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition by failing to install the proper safeguards in and/or maintenance of the nature play area on the premises thereby causing the Plaintiff, ANIYA MILLER to suffer serious permanent injuries when she fell and hit her head. The Defendant, ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF THE PALM BEACH BEACHES, INC., d/b/a PALM BEACH ZOO, knew of the existence of the dangerous and defective conditions or in the exercise of reasonable care should have known of the existence of the conditions; The Defendant, ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF THE PALM BEACH BEACHES, INC., d/b/a PALM BEACH ZOO, allowed the condition to exist for a length of time sufficient in which a reasonable inspection would have disclosed the dangerous conditions of the exposed sharp corner of a cement column;
The Defendant, ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF THE PALM BEACH BEACHES, INC., d/b/a PALM BEACH ZOO, failed to take adequate precautionary and/or preventive measures to protect individuals such as the Plaintiff, ANIYA MILLER, from the reasonable foreseeable dangers when the Defendant, ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF THE PALM BEACH BEACHES, INC., d/b/a PALM BEACH ZOO, knew or should have known of the extent of the dangers. The Defendant, ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF THE PALM BEACH BEACHES, INC., d/b/a PALM BEACH ZOO, failed to adequately and properly inspect and maintain the nature play area thereby causing the Plaintiff’s injuries and failed to properly warn the Plaintiff, ANIYA MILLER, of the dangerous condition. As a direct, proximate and foreseeable result of the negligence of the Defendant, ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF THE PALM BEACH BEACHES, INC., d/b/a PALM BEACH ZOO, the Plaintiff, ANIYA MILLER, was injured in and about her body and extremities.“
According to the suit, the child sustained life altering injuries that will require extensive and ongoing medical care.
The Zoo has not responded to the suit as of the afternoon of Wednesday, July 24, 2024. The plaintiffs are represented by Victor Ruiz, P.A., of Miami.

Just another show me the money case.
More frivolous lawsuits wasting taxpayers money! This child will not fall down again? Give me a break! When she falls in her friends or other family members yards while being a young girl will some”ambulance chaser” file a lawsuit on behalf of this mother? What an embarrassment for this child! Start going after the mother for these ridiculous filings. Make her pay for the court costs and legal fees!
Really???
Who is she going to sue if her child slips and falls inside her house?? This is ridiculous. These foolish lawsuits have to stop!
