Two Boca Raton restaurants were ordered closed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation following health inspector visits.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two Boca Raton restaurants were ordered closed by State of Florida health inspectors reporting to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

VILLA ROSANO at 9858 Clint Moore Road was ordered closed on July 17th, 2024. Inspectors also cited “roach activity” as the reason for the closure. Villa Rosano was ordered shut down at 12:02 p.m. on July 17th. It was permitted to reopen on July 18th at 10:30 a.m. Per BocaNewsNow.com, here is what inspectors recorded during the initial Villa Rosano inspection:

High Priority – Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. Observed approximately 10 live roaches inside of wheel of pasta water boiler on cook line in kitchen. Observed approximately 4 live inside of drip pan area of right side cook line flip top in kitchen Observed 2 live roaches inside of wheel of oven on cook line in kitchen Observed 1 live roach inside of wheel of prep table directly in front of cook line in kitchen. Observed 1 live roach on wooden chicken pounding prep table directly in front of cook line in kitchen Observed approximately 1 live roach inside of drip pan area of pizza line flip top cooler at front line **Warning**

High Priority – Raw animal foods not properly separated from each other in holding unit based upon minimum required cooking temperature. Raw beef stored above raw salmon in walk in cooler. Operator reorganized **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Intermediate – No measuring device available for measuring utensil surface temperature when using hot water as sanitizer in a dishmachine. Operator unable to provide at time of inspection **Repeat Violation** **Warning**

Basic – Dead roaches on premises. Observed 1 dead roach inside of lip of metal shelving above cook line in kitchen **Warning**

Basic – Standing water in floor drain/floor drain draining very slowly. Observed under pasta water boiler on cook line **Warning**

Quates Mexican Restaurant II at 9858 Clint Moore Road, Suite 134, in Boca Raton was ordered closed on July 15th. The issue: “roach activity.” The closure was ordered and went into effect at 12:45 p.m. The problem was cleared on July 16th at 10:52 a.m. The restaurant is now open and operational. The official report is still being processed by Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The closure was reported on the State’s “emergency closure” list.
