BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Palm Beach County man entered a guilty plea Thursday, nearly a year after committing a hate crime against the Boca Jewish Center at 21065 Powerline Road. Jesus Lobo, according to prosecutors, admitted to the crime carried out during the High Holidays of 2023.
”Our community will continue to fight antisemitism and will not be intimidated by hate,” said State Attorney David Aronberg in a statement issued to BocaNewsNow.com.
Prosecutors say that Jesus Lobo, 64, both a resident and security director of The Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, left a threatening message on the Boca Jewish Center’s voicemail system. Lobo used his own voice and called from his own phone number. Comcast verified the phone number during the police investigation. Here is the text of what he said:
“I just wanna make a comment. You guys were saved a few of you by Hitler and then you, Palestine was nice enough to let you guys in and what did you do? Instead of taking the piece they gave you took the whole damn place. Now you wanna do the same thing here in Palm Beach County, walk into Boca and overrule the whole place. And you know what? You guys are greedy, you’re selfish, you, you’re just disgusting when it comes to that. You have no morals, no principles. You don’t care about nobody but yourselves. So get the f—k outta here. If you think you’d run over West Palm Beach. West Palm Beach is a, is a county for a county, Palm Beach for everybody. Not just for you guys. And we let you guys in. We crazy. ’cause you be within three years before you us over and took taking the whole Palm Beach County, it would be called Palm Beach Jews. That that’s not gonna happen.”
Lobo, facing trial, entered a guilty plea to “evidence of prejudice while committing harassing telephone call,” according to the Palm Beach State Attorney’s Office. He must perform 50 hours of community service and write a minimum 200 word apology to the Boca Jewish Center. If he fails to perform community service and/or write the apology, Lobo faces 364 days in jail and a $1000 fine.
Police say Lobo’s home address is 4310 Fountains Drive in Lake Worth and, at the time that the arrest report was drafted, was listed as a director of the Fountains Country Club. He made the telephone call to Boca Jewish Center on or about September 18th, 2023. He was not booked into the Palm Beach County Jail as the charge was a misdemeanor. He was issued a summons and was not required to appear for the initial hearing.

Very sad that such things are still going on in 2024. Totally unacceptable to be honest and should not be tolerated. English is definitely not this persons first language as what he phoned in was a bit hard to read. I feel sorry for his lack of intelligence but his ability to hate others shines through and is quite disturbing on many levels. I’d really call him ignorant instead of stupid but very stupid to use one’s own phone number while committing a hate crime as it can be traced.
It’s time for hatred of others to stop already…we are better then this. Seems like since in the last nine or so years, things have gotten very ugly in America and that needs to change, like now! Our democracy depends on it!!!
