BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The West Palm Beach Police Department tells BocaNewsNow.com that it has launched an internal affairs investigation into the crash left two people dead in Boynton Beach. The crash, which we first reported on earlier this week, started in West Palm Beach and ended in the city limits of Boynton Beach.

Police Chief Frank Adderley, in a statement to BocaNewsNow.com, says he has placed the involved officers on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the Boynton Beach Police Department’s crash investigation.

“While there are many questions and few answers at this time, we need to let the facts lead us to the outcome of the investigation,” Chief Adderley said. “We are cooperating with the Boynton Beach Police Department and are committed to full transparency.”

From our initial report based on information provided by the Boynton Beach Police Department: “On Tuesday, July 30th, at approximately 8:10 PM, the Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a serious traffic crash at the intersection of Meadows Boulevard and North Congress Avenue. A silver Kia Stinger, driven by 23-year-old Neoni Copeland of Boynton Beach, was traveling south on North Congress Avenue at a high rate of speed when it collided with a blue Toyota Corolla.

The Corolla attempted to make a left turn to head west onto Meadows Boulevard at the time of the impact. Following the crash, Copeland fled the scene on foot but was apprehended nearby. The driver of the Toyota Corolla, 27-year-old Janice Woods, and her passenger, 57-year-old Marcia Pochette, sustained fatal injuries.

Information was received that Copeland had fled from the West Palm Beach Police Department a short time before the crash. Copeland has been charged with resisting arrest and two counts of leaving the scene of a crash causing fatality. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.”

  1. Tragedy what happened but it was the low life criminal that caused the crash not the police. So now they won’t be able to pursue criminals. Look what the woke bosses did to the other cop. Fired him for doing his job. Sickening. Criminals will take over.
