BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Flight delays and cancellations are mounting across Florida as Hurricane Debby comes ashore early Monday in the are of the “Big Bend.” Operations at airports on Florida’s west coast have be intermittent at best over the past two days, leading to planes — and crews — being out of place. That’s leading to big problems Monday.
At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, 45 flights have already been canceled as of 7 a.m. Monday. At least 41 flights have been delayed at FLL. Southwest, Spirit, Delta, JetBlue, and Silver are the hardest hit. At PBIA, seven flights have been canceled as of 7 a.m., with Delta, JetBlue, American, and Spirit all on the cancellation list. There are six delays as of 7 a.m. at PBIA.
At Miami International Airport, 62 flights have been canceled as of 7 a.m., with American Airlines, Southwest, Frontier, Envoy, JetBlue, and Delta topping the list. At MIA, 19 flights are delayed as of early Monday.
We thank FlightAware.com for the updated flight data. We encourage you to check with your airline before heading to the airport. Flight cancelations and delays are expected to dramatically increase throughout the day.

I know first hand the delays. Was booked to return to Fort Lauderdale from Las Vegas Sunday evening. Flight cancelled. Rebooked to Monday morning. Flight cancelled. Now waiting to Tuesday night to try again.
Good luck!!
