Readers Send More Photos Of Dogs Where They Do Not Belong. Starbucks Claims Its Following Law.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Is it safe to eat in a Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) in Palm Beach County? That’s the question many readers — and possibly county officials — are asking after BocaNewsNow.com published a series of photos of dogs in Starbucks locations. Many readers tell BocaNewsNow.com that the dogs are gross, unsanitary, and create a “dirty” and “unsafe” environment for other customers.
Florida and federal laws prohibit non-service animals from being in restaurants, supermarkets, and other locations where food is served. “Emotional Support Animals” — which are largely considered to be fake — are not service animals and do not qualify. Fearing fines or worse from officials, many stores across the region are now posting signs and enforcing a “no pet” policy. But Starbucks is apparently refusing to following the law. BocaNewsNow.com readers routinely send photos of dogs in Starbucks locations in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and across South Palm Beach County. We have learned several are in the process of filing complaints with state and federal officials.

As we reported last month, Starbucks spokeswoman Amanda Oliver claims Starbucks is doing nothing wrong, but refused to explain how the company is separating trained service animals from dogs that are clearly just “pets.”
”The Florida Department of Agriculture’s (FDA) Food Code specifically codifies the allowance of service animals in food establishments. Our corporate policy complies with all the relevant provisions of the FDA Food Code and extends its state-wide service animal permissions, to our Florida customers.”
The latest images received by BocaNewsNow.com, the people eating at a Boynton Beach Starbucks with two dogs at the table. Neither, according to witnesses, are service animals. The other is the man with the dog at the Starbucks in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park. Our tipster suggests this is also not a service animal.

Supermarkets, including Publix, are efforting to enforce laws by telling customers who attempt to bring pets into their stores that it is not allowed. Signs, like the one above, are now displayed at Publix locations statewide. Other signs, like the one below, are appearing across the region.

With all the pictures that are being published on this site, I don’t understand why state regulators at this point in time of have not stepped in and started to fine these locations a few Starbucks or stores got fined or closed for cleaning they get the message the same with other grocery stores, etc.. Yes it’s obvious by the pictures that none the animals shown are service animals they could not be they are not breeds they could be trained nor are they animals that are appropriate. As I understand the law a state food inspector can come in and shut the place
Down and demand that it is sanitized, these pictures alone should be sufficient and should be forwarded to that state organization with the power of the Boca News behind the complaint
Why are these places not being fined ????????????????? Better yet also fine the entitled owners
Yes, fine these businesses. AND Health Department should shut them down.
The dogs need to be checked. A service dog to me is for Blind people. I went to a new Starbucks in my area and 3 people came in with their dogs. One guy with his friend went to a table and sat down. Another lady came and made her order and waited out side until it was ready. Another young man came and he wasn’t even blind.
How about this Starbucks had a walk up window that they could have put their order in from outside. I will not go back to that Starbucks store.
I love Starbucks, but I am no eating with dogs.
None of the dogs had harnesses. So they were not special dogs. What next? Will Starbucks turn into a zoo?

Does the law provide for fines for merchants who ignore the law?
If not, it should
Disgusting people and their disgusting pets
