BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A homeowner in the west Boca Raton community of Lotus is back in the Palm Beach County Jail, facing charges for a third time in roughly two years. The homeowner, Dana Melnikoff, is being held on $4,000 bond.

While Melnikoff’s arrest report continues to be processed early Thursday, jail records obtained by BocaNewsNow.com indicate that Dana Melnikoff is charged with “battery on a person 65 years of age or older” and “battery — touch or strike.” She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 12:36 Wednesday morning. She remains locked up early Thursday.

This is Melnikoff’s latest arrest. She was charged with simple battery back in March of 2024. That case continues to work its way through the system, according to court records. She was also charged with shoplifting back in 2022. Melnikoff entered a per-trial diversion program and this charge was ultimately not prosecuted.

Dana Melnikoff lists her home address as the 8000 block of White Wave Terrace in Boca Raton’s Lotus Community.

  1. Well Fred, once again you’ve done it. Printed the photo of a woman who, while charged with a crime – has not been convicted. If she is ultimately found innocent, you have managed to commit an ethical, and moral, indiscretion. Rather than print stories of people who have been ACCUSED, it would be better to print those that have been convicted.

    1. Who is Fred? And welcome to Florida, where Florida Statute 119 ensures the public knows who is arrested and for what, to both protect the public — and the accused — of a Kafka-esque criminal justice system.
