COCONUT CREEK, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Police in Coconut Creek, just south of Boca Raton, made a significant arrest after a man allegedly fell asleep on Hillsboro Blvd. behind the wheel of a car he may have stolen. Coconut Creek PD shared this narrative with BocaNewsNow.com:
“Coconut Creek Police arrested Jose Camacho Turo, 43, of Miami on August 17 after finding him unconscious behind the wheel of a stolen car. The incident happened around 11:15 a.m. in the 4800 block of West Hillsboro Boulevard.

Upon awakening him, officers discovered evidence of drug use and subsequently searched the vehicle. Inside, they found methamphetamine and 18 stolen credit cards. The car itself was reported stolen from Homestead. Officers charged Camacho Turo with grand theft auto, possession of methamphetamine, and 18 counts of possessing a stolen credit card. He is currently in the Broward County Jail.“
Jail records obtained by BocaNewsNow.com reveal that Turo is officially charged with 18 counts related to possession and use of stolen credit cards, one count of grand theft auto, one count of methamphetamine possession and/or use, possession of stolen license plates, and driving while licenses is suspend for at least the third time. Bond was not set in the case. He remains in custody.
