BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We understand the injuries are minor but the delays are becoming major following a wreck on the Florida Turnpike in the area of Glades Road. The crash is active as of 12:22 p.m. Wednesday. All but one lane northbound is blocked in the area.
First responders were called to the scene, which just south of Glades Road, around 12:15 p.m. The backups are now reaching the Broward County line, although your results may vary depending on when you approach the area and whether or not additional apparatus is called to the scene.
Images from Florida Department of Transportation cameras in the area indicate a multi-car crash but no trucks appear to be involved. Paramedics are on the scene with Florida Highway Patrol. It was unclear if anyone had to be hospitalized or if the injuries are so minor that they can be treated on scene.
