UPDATE at 5:15 p.m. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that the second injured person has died. There is “no threat” to the community, according to police. Source say this is being investigated as a murder-suicide.
BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC — An attempted murder-suicide in North Broward is under investigation Thursday afternoon. The Broward Sheriff’s Office provided these details to BocaNewsNow.com:
At approximately 12:22 p.m., Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a shooting near Pier Street and Seabreeze Way in Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded.
When emergency crews arrived, they located two individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. According to investigators, an adult female was pronounced deceased on scene, and an adult male was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Detectives with BSO’s Crime Scene and Homicide Units are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
