BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Coral Springs resident is in the Palm Beach County Jail Labor Day morning following her arrest Sunday night by Boca Raton Police. Danielle Darmetta is being held on $2,000 bond.
According to citations reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, Darmetta was stopped by Boca PD just after 8 p.m. in the area of 99 SE Mizner for an unclear reason. Police, according to the citations, determined that Darmetta was showing signs of driving under the influence. She apparently refused to provide a blood or breath sample and was arrested on the spot. She remained incarcerated as of 10:30 a.m.
Under the implied consent portion of Florida (and most other state) laws, a driver agrees to provide a blood or breath (or urine) sample if the driver is alleged to be driving under the influence by law enforcement. A failure to comply can result in an automatic license suspension. Darmetta was required to surrender her license to law enforcement and, according to the citation, is not eligible for a permit while the charges work their way through the court system.
Darmetta is a former real estate agent, according to Florida public records, and now holds a license as a “facial specialist.” That license was not revoked.
