DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — I-95 in Delray Beach is closed northbound Tuesday morning following a fatal crash near Atlantic Avenue. The crash was first reported around 10 a.m. Traffic continues to be immobile at noon. There is no indication as to when the scene will be cleared.

According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the crash is a, “Multi-vehicle crash in Palm Beach County on I-95 North, at Exit 52: SR-806/Atlantic Ave.” It was first logged at 9:50 a..m. Florida Highway Patrol and other first responders were on the scene a short time later.

It was not immediately clear how many people were killed or injured. Southbound lanes are not affected, although traffic is slowing and causing “gaper delays” in the area. We are awaiting an update from FHP with initial details of what happened and how many vehicles were involved. Weather remains rainy with thunderstorms in the area.
