BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two homeowners in Broken Sound are facing a major lawsuit just filed against them in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, alleging they own more than a half million dollars in unpaid dues and fees to the Broken Sound Club. Robert and Lori Bogdanoff have lived in Broken Sound since 2004. It was not immediately clear for how long they have allegedly not paid the community.
According to the complaint obtained by BocaNewsNow.com and published below, Robert and Lori Bogdanoff both knew that living in Borken Sound brought with it the responsibility to pay club dues, fees, and assessments as they are approved by the Board of Directors. It’s not optional. If you live in a country club, HOA, or similar community in Florida, you are required to pay whatever you are told to pay.
But for reasons that are unclear, the Bogdonoffs were able to accrue a balance of $500,946.60 as of August 31, 2024. Broken Sound Club, Inc., is seeking a judge ot order a judgement against the Bogdanoffs — and for Broken Sound — in that amount. Public records show the Bogdanoff’s home at 2466 NW 66th Drive, was purchased by them in 2004 for $330,000. The total market value now, according to the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser, is $532,110 — just slightly more than the amount owed to Broken Sound.
Of note: the “statement” attached to the lawsuit shows that the current amount due is $3,371,79; the “over 30 day late” amount due is $5,152.85; the “over 60 day late” amount due is $4,408.06; and the “over 90 day late” amount due is $490,013.90. It’s a little late at this point, but the statement reminds the Bogdanoffs that “payment is due prior to the end of the month to avoid interest charges at a 1.5-percent monthly rate.” A court date is pending.
