UPDATE at 5:04 p.m: Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says that at 1:30 p.m. a call came in to PBSO that shots were fired by the U.S. Secret Service at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach. PBSO says it is in constant contact with the U.S. Secret Service whenever Donald Trump is in the area. A witness, according to Sheriff Bradshaw, photographed the fleeing vehicle and its license plate.
PBSO’s real time crime center transmitted that license plate information to every PBSO vehicle — and camera — equipped with an automatic license plate reader. A reader got a hit on that vehicle on I-95 as it was heading north towards Martin County. Martin County Sheriff’s Office Deputies stopped the vehicle and made an arrest. The suspect is being questioned in Palm Beach County. The FBI is leading the investigation. A backpack, an AK47, and a GoPro were found on the Trump International Golf Course. The GoPro was apparently set up to record whatever happened as the alleged gunman potentially prepared to open fire.
State Attorney Dave Aronberg says the suspect will likely be held in Palm Beach County on multiple charges while federal charges are also filed. The area of Trump International Golf Course is locked down, but Sheriff Bradshaw says schools, post offices, and libraries in the area will operate as expected Monday morning.
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Former President Donald Trump is said to be fine after man with a gun described as an AK47 was found perched near a hole on the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach. Trump was playing golf at the time the man was found.

Initial reports said that the suspect fired at Donald Trump, but those reports were later pulled back. As of 4:45 p.m., it appears that the man had the gun and may have come under fire from the U.S. Secret Service, but did not fire at the former President. The man did flee the scene and was later stopped — and taken into custody — in Martin County.
We note that the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is NOT the lead agency when it comes to security involving Donald Trump. Security is overseen — and handled — by the United States Secret Service.
We are awaiting an official update from the Martin County Sheriff, the United States Secret Service, and the FBI which is overseeing the investigation.
This is a developing story.
