TWO MAJOR EVENTS IN BOCA RATON FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

UPDATE: 7:57 p.m. — Police tell BocaNewsNow.com that the shooter left the scene, but there is believed to be no threat to the public and there is no suspect description. The dead are identified as a male and a female. Another male is hospitalized. Police believe this started as a dispute in the area of an extended stay hotel on Ocean Blvd. It is not clear — as of just before 8 p.m. Friday — whether the suspect knew the victims. Ocean Blvd. Remains closed between Palmetto Park Road and 800 North Ocean.
UPDATE: 7:14 p.m. — Police not saying whether the shooter is on the loose, arrested, or dead.
UPDATE: 6:54 p.m. — Ocean Boulevard will remain closed between Palmetto Park Road and 800 North Ocean until further notice.
UPDATE: 6:25 p.m. — Two people are dead in the shooting on Ocean Blvd. In Boca Raton. Details pending.
UPDATE: 5:53 p.m. — Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that at least one person was shot but there may be additional victims regarding the Ocean Boulevard situation — this is separate from the Town Center Mall crime scene.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There are two major situations developing Friday afternoon in the City of Boca Raton. One on Ocean Blvd. The second at Boca Raton’s Town Center Mall.
On Ocean Boulevard, Boca Raton Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 300 block. The area is blocked off and there is a significant police presence on the scene. We do not yet know if anyone was seriously injured or killed. We do not know if anyone is in custody. This is developing as of 5:30 p.m.
On Glades Road near Butts Road, police are working a strong armed robbery at the mall. The area of Glades and Butts is blocked off, according to police. K-9 units are on the scene and a police helicopter is above. Again, this is developing as of 5:30 and we do not know if an arrest has been made, if a suspect is being pursued, or if anyone has been injured.
The incidents are unrelated, according to police. Check back for updates.
That’s great…tell the public a murder suspect is on the loose and then not provide any description of the person or the car they drove off in. Great police work. I feel safe 🙄🙄🙄 living just a few miles away.
