BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A killer is on the loose after murdering two people by the beach in Boca Raton and the City of Boca Raton Police Department is not releasing suspect information. BocaNewsNow.com was first to report Friday on the triple shooting in the 300 block of Ocean Boulevard around 5 p.m.
Police confirmed to BocaNewsNow.com that the murders were the result of some sort of altercation in the parking lot of 365 N. Ocean, a 20-room “boutique” extended stay hotel, according to its website. The altercation led to gunfire, with a man and woman being killed. A third person, identified as a man, was injured and remains hospitalized Saturday morning.
The gunman, however, fled the area and remains on the loose. Boca Raton Police say it is “not believed” that the public is at risk. However, the department is notably not releasing any suspect information at all. We do not know race. We do not know height. We do not know age. We do not know direction of travel (although presumably north, south, or west, as Ocean Boulevard runs parallel to the ocean). We do not know the type of gun used. We do not know if surveillance cameras in the area captured the killings.
Ocean Boulevard, closed for more than eight hours, was reopened very early Saturday morning between Palmetto Park Road north through the crime scene area. If you have photos, video, or information, please reach out to BocaNewsNow.com through our anonymous submission system, above, or text 561-576-NEWS (561-576-6397).
The Ocean365 Extended Stay hotel offers rooms at $189 a night, according to a sample booking generated for early October. There is currently a 10-percent discount offer, according to the hotel’s website.
We remind our readers that the City of Boca Raton has its own police force which is entirely separate from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. We have heard from a number of people saying that PBSO needs to do better. This is not in the jurisdiction of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
