BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A United States Postal Worker was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday evening in the City of Boca Raton. The City of Boca Raton Police Department said nothing about the crime until we asked about it on Friday, after receiving a tip from a source in the city. It’s at least the fifth violent crime in the City of Boca Raton in just two weeks.
In this latest case, the Boca Raton Police Department now confirms that the incident occurred in the 1300 block of SW 4th Street around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Boca Raton Police Department offered no details of the crime, referring all questioned to the United States Postal Inspector. Agent Ivan Ramirez, Director of the Miami Division of the United States Postal Inspector’s Office, told BocaNewsNow.com that the employee was not hurt.
“The employee was not harmed during the commission of the crime,” said Director Ramirez. “Postal Inspectors are following up on every lead they have uncovered thus far. There is no threat to (postal customers) or the community as a whole as this was a random act of opportunity against one of our own.”
The crime is the fifth major crime in the City of Boca Raton in just two weeks. The Boca Raton Town Center Mall was locked down on September 14th when what’s believed to be a “Swatting” call made by kids claimed guns and bombs would be part of an imminent attack at the mall. There was no attack. There was, however, chaos as shoppers didn’t know if they should hide or flee. No arrests have been made.
Days later, a Rolls Royce was stolen in a carjacking at gun point in the City of Boca Raton. The victim was uninjured but the Rolls remains at large, as does the suspect. Police have not offered leads or a suspect description.
Last Friday, two people were killed by alleged gunman Davonte Moss. Moss, who allegedly knew the victims, shot them in dead in a dispute on Ocean Boulevard. While the City of Boca Raton is calling his arrest a day later in Georgia a “success,” several law enforcement experts and local citizens are questioning how an alleged killer made it from Ocean Boulevard to his home in Boynton Beach — during the height of rush hour — then drove to Georgia. All before being captured by police there.
And while the murder was under investigation, a woman was the victim of a strong-arm robbery at Boca Raton Town Center Mall. The suspect in that case remains on the loose. She was apparently treated for minor injuries as the purse was ripped from her body.

The malls should have TSA security till things calm down- whenever that is. Like they do in a lot of foreign countries before you entire a mall u go thru a sensor – no weapons or knifes allowed. Why do u need this in a mall –
A mall it to shop not to bring weapons so priority should be to protect the shoppers.
