Publix, Starbucks, and 3G’s Deli. Welcome To Boca Rudeton For Sunday.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Never mind the gigantic signs telling customers that pets are prohibited in area Publix stores, the (allegedly) rude dog owners who live in and visit Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and beyond are out in full force. Welcome to Sunday’s edition of Boca Rudeton™, featuring not just Publix, but Starbucks and 3G’s Gourmet Deli in Delray Beach, too.
We start with the photo at the top of this page. It’s the Publix at Glades Road and U.S. 441. That’s where our tipster saw the woman and her beautifully coiffed doggy, following her through the supermarket. Unfortunately, only of them is legally supposed to be there. We’ll let you figure out which one.

Our next Boca Rudeton nominee is the woman, below, seen at 3G’s deli (5869 W. Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach). We, of course, do not know what she was thinking when she brought the dog into a restaurant, but our tipster was thinking that it seemed odd. The tipster pondered if the woman knows that it’s against the law to bring a dog into an restaurant unless it’s a true service animal trained to perform a specific function. It’s also against the law to lie about your dog’s training.

Next up is an example of why Starbucks is having financial problems nationwide. The stores look like pet shops. In the photo below, you see a woman with her dog in the Starbucks in the Canyons in Boynton Beach. We don’t know why the dog is there or what function it is trained to provide.

Back to Publix we go. First, a Publix on West Palmetto Park Road. Our tipster in this store wants to know why the woman doesn’t just have a dog in the store, but is carrying it a “lick level” for the fresh produce that’s sitting out. It’s a legitimate question. If the woman seen here would like to answer, feel free to drop us a line. We’re happy to publish your comments.

And our final Boca Rudeton entry this Sunday is the woman seen, below, at the Publix in Woodfield Shopping Center. We’re not sure if that’s a dog, a small pig, or a rat on the leash, but we do question whether or not it’s a trained service animal that has the ability to perform a specific lifesaving function. If it does, we’d ask the woman to reach out to us so we can do a story on this amazing animal that certainly should legally be in Publix, despite huge signs reminding people to leave their pets at home.
So who is our winner this week? It’s a tough one. But our judges have met, debated, decided, and came to this unanimous decision: the woman with the dog at 3G’s Gourmet Deli in Delray Beach is our latest Boca Rudeton™ winner. What does she win? Well… as our readers know, we don’t really give out prizes, but if we did: this woman would win a very special bagel that’s been licked by a beagle. Yes, it’s the highly coveted “Beagle Bagel” — a special gift from your friends at BocaNewsNow.com.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. get a life…this is the most stupid article i’ve ever read in my lifetime. you obviously can’t afford to own an animal since your journalism career is attempting to talk crap about random people who aren’t even bothering you in a low budget home-town newspaper. you don’t even include your name because you’re a coward hiding behind a screen. By the way, i know these animals are cleaner than you, you have a nasty soul. you’re the winner of the biggest loser in Boca, congrats!
You are right. I love dogs. Bravo to their owners taking them with them.
Thanks for the imbecilic take. That was refreshing.
Some of us are afraid of dogs. We don’t hate them or try to run them over with our cars, but you need to get a goddamn clue about not bringing them into supermarkets and restaurants..
you selfish idiot.
As a kitchen Manager and a human being that can read & comprehend the English language. I know it’s against Florida State Law to have animals in food establishments. What is so hard to understand ladies? Are you ignorant, illiterate, or just entitled? These prize winners look all of the above. It’s a HEALTH HAZARD, what part of HEALTH HAZARD do you not understand? We live in a community, and we have laws so we can live safely, together in harmony. Nothing says I’m lonely and desperate for attention more than bringing your dog to public food establishments.
What about my Rotweiler? Or my Dobeman? Can I bring them out to get a Sandwich? Arrogant vile humans you all are
Bravo on your article! What readers fail to understand is that some people have “Real” Service Dogs who are put in danger by these untrained and sometimes unleashed Dogs brought into Public Restaurants, Stores, Supermarkets and such.
My Wife served for 25 years in the Air Force/Space Force and after a Tour in Iraq came back a Permanently and Totally Disabled American Veteran. Thanks to K9 Partners for Patriots in Brookesville, Florida she has a wonderful Service Dog who helps her through her Military Related Struggles.
Unfortunately, I cannot tell you how many times she and this fine Animal have been attacked by aggressive, untrained and unleashed “Fake” Service Dogs in Public Venues. Shame on all these selfish people who only care about themselves.
No Jane or Karen. This is great community service. 20 years ago this would not stand. Why is it ok now? If you can’t stand being an hour away from the dog, order online.
No NO NO
You are all out of line.
In the first place, this is a law that you cannot option to not obey.
Your dog or pets may be cute an sweet to you, but not to those who do not know you or your pets.
Those sweet pets can set off serious allergy attacks.
Those sweet pets can cause serious harm when they think their owners are in danger from others. I have a friend who received a serious dog bite by a protrective dog.
They do not belong in restaurants or food stores. They have accidents that can be life threatening to humans.
Take your pets to dog park or dog beach. Have them play with other owners and pets. Leave us dog-phobic humans out of your rudeness.
I personally don’t have a problem with people bringing there dogs into public business’s regardless of the type of business. As long as the dog is trained and not aggressive or disturbing anything. I personally have been more disturbed and appalled at small children of customers that have disruptive behavior or a dirty/soiled diaper that leaves a foul oder. If we have to deal with others small children’s bad/smelly situations, then dogs should be tolerated as well.
Flood the health department with complaints on these stores. Confront the store managers. Can’t stand these morons that think it’s OK to bring their mutts into places that sell food. As far as 3Gs is concerned hope they lose enough customers as I will NEVER patronize any restaurant that allows this. Add Dorris Market in Boca as they allow dogs to sit in their shopping carts. Josephs in Delray allows dogs in their store, and I no longer shop there so they lost a customer that spent on average $40 to $70 on each visit.
We love our horses, goats, chickens and dog. We bring our very well behaved dog to Tractor Supply and other places that welcome dogs…and that’s it.
This is not the fault of the moron, self absorbed dog owners…it’s the fault of the establishments and fellow citizens.
Those who lack self awareness and are full of entitlement toting around or freely walking their “emotional support” dog around need to be constantly and harshly shamed and barred from entry. If they’re already inside, the store should kick them out…even with groceries in the cart…you gotta go.
It’s our collective fault for not instantly confronting and shaming them. Establishments should not allow them and the public should loudly point, mock, laugh, take pictures and video and publicize even more than is being done now.
Until the level of uncomfortableness for these dimwits outweighs their level of self entitlement…they will continue.
Great job Boca News and please continue the work. Hopefully some courage to speak up and take a stand will spread.
Thank you for your ‘pets not allowed’ comment
We just returned from a 3 week stay in the UK. How nice it was to see well-behaved dogs of all breeds and sizes in pubs, restaurants and retail establishments. No one was upset, angry or concerned. No one sustained injuries or illnesses. In fact, it was all quite lovely and normal. Why do so many people in the US have such a need for control and rigidity about so many unimportant matters? Yes, the laws say “no animals “…and these people are technically breaking the law…but perhaps the laws could be changed…(something to think about)…
As a kitchen Manager and a human being that can read & comprehend the English language, I know it’s against Florida State Law to have animals in food preparation establishments.
Oh that’s right, those are big dogs, and yall are making up the law now, and they scare you so they’re not allowed. You know what scares me? Idiots that have no common sense, pepole of the common clay, you know, MORONS. Real classy ladies, keep up the good work! Bunch of arrogant vile humans you all are.
I agree with Boca News. Pets do NOT belong in a grocery store. End of Story!!!!
I can’t even read all the negative comments on here. Dogs in stores is illegal and completely unsanitary and selfish. Nuff said. Entitled people are the only ones who see themselves as above the law so they break it (and then whine about it when caught). They are exactly why America is turning into a sh*tbox.
Lord please help us. Sincerely, please help us.
If bringing an animal into a grocery store or restaurant is illegal, if it’s reported to the police in real time,
would they come and remove the animal and the owner? Write them a ticket with fines?
There’s just no reason for animals to be in a grocery store. As in my building, if the animal has to poop
or pee, who’s responsible for picking the mess up? In my building, owners just walk away and leave it.
wait till one of these entitled people has there dog maul a child or other person then only will this law be enforced how stupid of these people to be so arrogant and feel like they can do what they want
