BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There’s a significant incident on the Florida Turnpike southbound in the area of Glades Road as of 8 p.m. Wednesday. Delays are now spanning several miles. We are encouraging motorists to stay off the Turnpike in the area for at least the next hour or so.
While Fire Rescue is not yet on the scene, Florida Department of Transportation cameras show the vehicle circled above stopped with flashers in the middle of the second-to-left hand lane. We believe we saw a person run from the side of the vehicle to the shoulder of the Turnpike around 7:55 p.m. Traffic appeared to swerve as he ran.

The vehicle is now sitting in the road with its flasher on as cars try to drive around it. The situation is causing major delays. We do not know if anyone is injured inside the vehicle or what may have led to what appears to be a vehicle abandonment.
Check back for updates. We’ll keep our eyes on the traffic cams, but heed our warning: stay off the Turnpike SB near Glades. It’s likely going to get worse before it gets better.
