BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — As of 5 p.m. Monday, all Palm Beach County public schools and Broward County public schools are set to open for a normal day of school on Tuesday. But once the final bell rings, both school districts are shutting down until at least Friday. There is no public school in Palm Beach County or Broward County on Wednesday or Thursday. Friday’s status will be determined over the next two days.
Florida Atlantic University is closed from 5 p.m. on Tuesday until end of day on Thursday. FAU tells BocaNewsNow.com that a decision about Friday classes will be made at some point on Thursday.
For private schools in Palm Beach County: Pine Crest in Boca Raton (and Fort Lauderdale) will operate normally on Tuesday until the final bell rings, then the campuses will close through Thursday. A decision about Friday will be made later. St. Andrew’s in Boca Raton says it will operate a normal schedule on Tuesday but will close Wednesday and Thursday. American Heritage, which notably held classes remotely during the storm last week, says it will make a decision by 10 a.m. on Tuesday about the rest of the week.
