BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A child from Tampa died Thursday at a home in Pompano Beach. The Broward Sheriff’s Office provided this information to BocaNewsNow.com early Friday afternoon:
Shortly after 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, Broward Regional Communications received a call regarding a possible drowning at a home in the 1600 block of Northeast First Avenue. BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene. Deputies learned the victim’s mother had found the child unresponsive in the pool. Family members pulled the victim from the pool and immediately began CPR until deputies took over. Paramedics transported the child to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
