BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A major traffic situation is developing at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in Boca Raton. The east and westbound lanes of Glades Road are CLOSED at I-95 due to a serious crash. The Boca Raton Police Department alerted to the crash moments ago.
Traffic cameras monitored by BocaNewsNow.com show a growing slowdown on I-95 in the north direction. However, the incident — from what we understand — is actually on Glades Road, suggesting the crash is primarily in the westbound lanes. The northbound I-95 exit becomes westbound Glades Road.
If you are on I-95, our advice is to either exit at Palmetto Park Road and head west to Jog/Powerline, then head north to FAU, Yamato, Linton, or Atlantic, and rejoin I-95. The further north you go, the better you likely will be. If you are on Glades Road, get off as soon as you can on your closest north/south road. Head south to Palmetto Park if you’re heading south. Head north to likely at least Yamato if you’re heading north.
We do not know anything about injuries at this point or how long the road will be closed. For now, stay away from Glades in the area of I-95. Check back for updates.
