BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Three Palm Beach County public school teachers are set to be fired. The educators are expected to be terminated during the school board meeting on October 23. The terminations have been in process for several months.
BocaNewsNow.com obtained the termination letters for each employee. We are publishing excerpts from those letters, below. The names of the schools where the employees were assigned are not listed.
EMPLOYEE: JOHN FORAN. “Based upon information presented to me, I hereby inform you that there is “just cause”, which can be substantiated by clear and convincing evidence, to warrant your termination from your position as a Teacher – Social Science. I will recommend your termination from employment at the Wednesday, October 23, 2024, School Board Meeting, which will be held at 3300 Forest Hill Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL 33406. This action is taken in accordance with sec. 1012.22, Fla. Stat. and sec. 1012.27, Fla. Stat. On or about Friday, August 23, 2024, you became the subject of an Office of Professional Standards investigation based upon allegations of policy violations related to Allegation 1: Insubordination, Allegation 2: Inappropriate Comments/Interaction with Students), Allegation 3: Failure to Exercise Best Professional judgment. At the conclusion of the investigation, the allegations were substantiated.”
EMPLOYEE: NOVELL NORTHERN. “Based upon information presented to me, I hereby inform you that there is “just cause”, , which can be substantiated by clear and convincing evidence, to warrant your termination from your position as a Teacher Middle Science 6-8. I will recommend your termination from employment at the Wednesday, October 23, 2024, School Board Meeting, which will be held at 3300 Forest Hill Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL 33406. This action is taken in accordance with sec.
1012.22, Fla, Stat. and sec. 1012.27, Fla. Stat. On or about May 7, 2024, you became the subject of an Office of Professional Standards investigation based upon allegations of policy violations related to Allegation 1: Disparaging Comments Toward Students. Allegation 2: Failure to Follow Established Rules, Procedures, Directives. Allegation 3: Failure to Exercise Best Professional Judgment. At the conclusion of the investigation, the allegations were substantiated.”
EMPLOYEE: BILLY JACKSON: “Based upon information presented to me, I hereby inform you that there is “just cause” , which can be substantiated. by clear and convincing evidence, to warrant your termination from your position as a Custodian. I will recommend your termination from employment at the Wednesday, October 23, 2024, School Board Meeting, which will be held at 3300 Forest Hill Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL 33406. This action is taken in accordance with sec. 1012.22, Fla. Stat. and sec. 1012.27, Fla. Stat. On or about August 1, 2024, you became the subject of an Office of Professional Standards investigation based upon allegations of policy violations related to Allegation 1: Ethical Misconduct, Allegation 2: Failure to Follow Policy, Rule or Directive, and Other Supporting Authorities. At the conclusion of the investigation, the allegations were substantiated. Therefore, these actions violate the following: Allegation 1: Ethical Misconduct Policies 3.02 (2), 3.02(4)(a), 3.02(4)(b), 3.02(4)0), 3.02(5)(i) Code of Ethics. Allegation 2: Failure to Follow Policy, Rule or Directive Policy 3.10(6) Conditions of Employment with the District, Policy 1.013(1) Responsibilities of School District Personnel and Staff. Other Supporting Authorities: Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU/FPSU, Article 17 (Progressive Discipline), Article 22 (Sick Leave).”
If approved, firings generally become effective a few weeks after a school board meeting.


Correction….I retired at the district office October 5th effective October 18th.
