BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There may be a new clue in the murder of a young north Broward County man — a murder that so far has not led to an arrest. The Broward Sheriff’s Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that the white car seen above may be connected to the killing of Bobby Abernathy II in April. This is the official statement detectives provided:
At approximately 1:17 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a shooting victim at 1200 S. W. 11th Way in Deerfield Beach. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. On scene, deputies located an adult male, Bobby Abernathy II, in a parking lot with gunshot wounds. Paramedics took Abernathy to Broward Health North hospital with life-threatening injuries. Later that day, doctors pronounced Abernathy deceased.

BSO’s Violent Crimes and Crime Scene units initially responded to investigate. Following Abernathy’s death, BSO’s Homicide Unit took over the investigation. The vehicle involved in the murder is believed to be a white or silver, newer model Nissan Rogue. The video released shows the vehicle prior to the shooting.
On Oct. 3, Broward Crime Stoppers announced an increased reward of up to $10,000 in the case. Anyone with information on the homicide and/or vehicle is asked to contact BSO Homicide Unit Detective Kristina Luna at 954-321-4210 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app. If you wish to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward, please contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), online at browardcrimestoppers.org, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States.
