Likely To Form This Weekend. Hurricane Season Not Over Yet.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There is now a 40-percent chance that a new tropical depression will form south of Florida over the weekend. What it does after that remains unclear. The system is currently a “disturbance” with “gradual development” possible, according to forecasters at the National Hurricane Center. This is the Tuesday afternoon update:
“Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 200 PM EDT Tue Oct 29 2024 For the North Atlantic… Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: Southwestern Caribbean Sea: A broad area of low pressure will likely develop over the southwestern Caribbean Sea in a couple of days.
Gradual development is possible thereafter, and a tropical depression could form over the weekend while the system begins to drift northward or northeastward toward the central Caribbean Sea. Formation chance through 48 hours…low…near 0 percent. Formation chance through 7 days…medium…40 percent.”
We note the Atlantic Hurricane Season continues through November 30th. The next storm names are Patty, Rafael, and Sara.
