BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The body found inside a car in a West Boca Raton canal Friday has been identified. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says it’s Ginger Kennedy-Finelli. She lived in the complex where the car was found with her body inside.
As BocaNewsNow.com was first to report Friday, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the area of 9440 SW 8th Avenue around noon after a report was made about a car in a canal. It was unclear if the caller saw the vehicle enter the water, or if the vehicle was in the water for a while and suddenly became visible. A dive team ultimately made contact with the vehicle and found Kenney-Finelli inside.

PBSO says homicide investigators are assigned to the case, but there is no indication that this is “foul play.” A homicide team is routinely assigned to death cases. The initial belief, according to sources, is that Ms. Kennedy-Finelli took her own life.
A report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com says that Ginger Kennedy-Finelli was 58. She had faced criminal charges for battery on a police officer in Palm Beach County in 2013. The charge was ultimately not prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office.
